Nina was the coolest mom, wife, bingo player, bowler, and flamenco dancer on the planet. Her great abuelo emigrated to Mexico from Spain in the late 19th century. He built up a small ranching fortune which was was partially "appropriated" by Pancho Villa during the Mexican revolution (true story).
Nina met our dad Skip in Mexico (we, too can't believe anyone is still named Skip). Skip and Nina had two kids, Jim and Marisa. The family eventually moved to Texas.
After college, Marisa married Brett and Jim married Jen. Brett is a genius entrepreneur (check out www.tubemogul.com). Jen is a genius at all things "craft"( get your craft on at www.doodlehearts.com). Marisa and Jim are just happy to be married to geniuses.
Jim and Jen have a baby girl named Morgan. Brett and Marisa have two little ones, Madeline and Michael. Michael is very likely the only part Mexican toehead you've ever seen.
Nina is the reason we're all here in Baja. This is a place for us to have fun and show our kids a little bit about their heritage. Make sure to toast Nina while you're here.
